Exhibition at Documenta Fifteen in Kassel, Germany

INSTAR’s Operational Factography (2022) creates the conditions for the crossover and coexistence of projects and ideas that lead to the restitution of historical memory and its dynamization in the present by integrating art, economics, literacy, and political engagement. Each show displays a specific project or or practice in Cuba, aiming to give justice to artists and intellectuals censored by the Cuban government.

The institute’s main objective was the promotion of civic literacy and social justice in Cuba. It creates a model of institutionality guided by freedom of expression, human rights and zero tolerance to discrimination.

FEATURED ARTIST FOR 36 DAYS OF TYPE ON ADOBE CREATE AND BEHANCE ​

36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators and graphic artists to express their particular interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet.

A yearly open call exploring the creative boundaries of letterforms, where participants are challenged to design a letter or number each day for 36 consecutive days, as a global and simultaneous act showing the outcome of the ability to represent the same symbols from thousands different perspectives.

A project that aims to be a space fro creation around typography and its endless graphic possibilities.

Lincoln Place

Brand Objective

To brand and position the newly re-imagined Lincoln Place as the most sought-after business epicenter in Miami Beach

CA Project

Trained in the traditional ways of illustration and design, Miguel gained enrollment into the FIU’s first generation of designers where he honed his skills in ideation, art direction, photo design, advertising, package design, and web design.

City of Sunny Isles

The inspiration behind the brand mark is inspired by its own and unique atmosphere. Since it is now home to world-renowned architecture, I decided to incorporate the element of the modern buildings. Along with its architecture, the City is known as a coastal oasis with pristine beaches and I represented this with a subtle and elegant ocean waves. I wanted something modern but also did’t want to deviate from the classic organization logotype and that’s why there’s a version with everything enclosed inside.
